The Urban Dictionary definition of Borked.....is borked.

Tech people use the term "borked" pretty freely now, but for those who actually remember it is a reference to nominee Robert Bork who's confirmation hearings were driven off the rails in the midst of partisan politics. No matter which side you agree with, it was clear that the process itself was totally broken as a result.
The argument over the definition of the term, is suffering the same fate. Check out the use of alternate definitions to continue the very same argument.

the term borked was in common use among techs well before robert bork entered
the scene- it was appropriated from the swedish chef and meant something that
was broken due to stupidity or nonsense (like the bork bork bork! that the
swedish chef was always shouting along with his nonsense cooking)
