I went to put the snow tires on my wife's Honda minivan tonight because we're expecting our first bit of snow tomorrow. When I bought these, rather than paying twice a year to have all four wheels remounted and balanced I purchased some cheap wheels and had them mounted the one time. Now I can just use the floor jack and do the job myself in an hour or so and save a hundred bucks twice a year. All goes well and good except two problems. First, these cheapo wheels are so poorly built that one of them can't work on the front wheels because one of the welds hits one of the brake calipers when you're braking. Needless to say I got that one on the front wheel. As I went to switch it with the one in the back, I noticed that these snow tires are directional. I could tell because they have a large arrow imprinted in the sidewall. Of course, as you've no doubt guessed, every single tire was on the wrong side of the car for the directional tread of the tires to face the right way.
As I said, some jobs are so fun you have to do them twice.
