So, is it cool to have a sidebar ad?

As for the "remember me" I'm working on it. The plan is for a profile stored
here, that is tied to a 32byte cookie on your browser side. The cookie
references the local profile so that if you loose the cookie (or eat it) or
want to work from more than one machine, you can retrieve a copy of that cookie
by typing in the email address you used when you posted once.
I hate doing anything small.

I see no problem with it, it's your site, people are reading it, if they want
to keep reading it then you probably need to keep making a living to pay the
hosting fees, so go for it. If it was a popup ad, my answer maybe a little
different though.

Point 1.
Point 3, if I like what I read, I want to know more about the person, including
what they have to offer (services, products, sex, drugs, rock and roll, etc.).

BTW, I would like a Remember Me feature like in some other blogs so I didn't
