Pretty much all of you know that I've been working toward commercializing the paging/phone system. Now that all the technical hurdles are met, its just a question of fine tuning and finish carpentry. Part of that though, is picking a name. You'd be amazed how few domain names are available that have anything to do with news, broadcast, alert, signal, or alarm.
Here's what I've come up with that are available, in the order of preference I personally have. I'm very interested to know which of these mean anything to you either good or bad. Keep in mind that although Fire departments are the first target, they are not the only one.
My picks:
#1. SecondSignal -- aka: www.secondsignal.com -- I think its clear, easy to spell, and says clearly what the system does.
#2. RestOfTheTeam --- as in "tell the rest of the team" -- not sure about this.
#3. RelayHub -- means something to computer people, probably not anyone else.
#4. PatchedThrough -- good meaning, especially to radio aware people, but hard to spell right needs explaining.
#5. SideBandAlert -- same as #4.
#6. ToneOut --- meaningful to us, but I'm not even sure its a term used in the rest of the country, let alone anywhere else.

of your list, SecondSignal seems clear and easy to remember. #3 I'd call too
generically techie, and #4 has the spelling problem you mentioned.
