Sitting in a Border's books using T-Mobile and keep dropping the signal. About the 4th time, I realize its because I'm putting the nice tall cup of iced cola next to the wireless card. 802.11 wireless uses the same frequency as your microwave oven, because that frequency is "unlicensed" (or at least minimally licensed) compared to many others. This is an interesting wavelength because it happens to interact with water molecules. The microwave works by making water molecules move faster -- imparting energy to them. Another way of saying that (thanks to the laws of conservation of energy) is that water molecules absorb energy in that wavelength. If you're following, you'll realize that my tall cola is mostly water, and way too much of it for that minimal wattage to penetrate reliably. Grrrrr......
