IBM to Acquire Alphablox, an outstanding toolkit for data mining

Some of you know I took a year out from consulting to work for Rich Schwartz at a company doing some interesting transactional work around legal invoicing. My job there was to create a next generation architecture to support the kind of large scale they were expecting. One of the things I had to do was recommend as reporting package that would allow users to do their reports and scan data quickly and easily via a browser. Alphablox was one thing we looked closely at and were very impressed by.
It will be interesting to see what IBM does with it.
