Soccer Playoffs -- Ari the enforcer -- So far #1 and undefeated
By Andrew Pollack on 10/23/2005 at 02:07 PM EDTAri (my 11 year old) plays on a competitive "travel" soccer team. The playoffs were this weekend Saturday and Sunday about 1.5 hours north of here. Sunday is rained out so only Saturday's games were played. Sunday's games are moved to next Saturday, with the state championships the following day. Ari's team won BOTH games (the only team in her division to do so) and are in the #1 spot. Ari plays mid field or full back, and is getting a reputation as an enforcer. She sent a total of 7 players on the other teams who made the mistake of attempting to body check her or kick the ball at the same moment as her off the field with a temporary medical time-out over the course of two games. She was not called for fouls on any of them. She's playing legal ball -- she's just that much stronger. Fortunately, none were seriously injured. ;-)

This is not quite a scam because it's technically legal, but it's run very much like a scam. This company works with a few "clients" that have vast repositories of copyrighted images.
