Ok Mac People: Name some fun software that's ok for kids and runs on older hardware....
By Andrew Pollack on 09/25/2004 at 09:19 PM EDTI'm giving my 9 year old daughter this G3 400mhz iMac. Its been upgraded now to 256 megs but only has 8mb of video memory. As a result, Tony Hawk Skater Pro 4 won't run. Now, to make the sale on ripping her PC out and replacing it with this iMac, I need to find something she'll enjoy playing on it.
I have all the "educational" games I really need -- I'm looking for pure fun. She really likes the skater game -- I think because she can dress up the skaters any way she wants, but still make them do cool tricks. The "Barbie" dress up thing will go flat in a second. I'm definately thinking a driving, skating, exploring, kind of action game without too much shooting and killing.

This is not quite a scam because it's technically legal, but it's run very much like a scam. This company works with a few "clients" that have vast repositories of copyrighted images.
