Friends, there is a new milkshake upon the land, and it is good. Now some of you may know that I have a weakness for the classic vanilla milkshake. I'm not sure when McDonalds released this new and improved model, as I'm normally very reluctant to try a new milkshake from a low cost place like that -- particularly having made the terrible mistake of having tried one from Carl's Jr. in Phoenix back in around 1985, something I still have not recovered from entirely -- but lo, McDonalds has got it right with this one. The one I had today in the great town of Bath, Maine home of the Bath Iron Works shipyard where they have made the most amazing battle ships for over 100 years, was fundamentally a GREAT SHAKE. If this proves to be not a fluke, not the sole product of world renown Maine craftsmanship as applied to a regular old shake, but indeed a fundamentally good milkshake readily available to the general population of the world by way of that global purveyor of spotlessly clean, yet homogenized sameness; then today is in fact a great day for all of mankind. Well, at least for those parts of mankind who, like me, crave a good vanilla shake now and again.
Dear readers, I can think of no greater blessing upon you, then to wish you as much luck in finding a global avenue for your own favorite tastes.
