Remember that "Jawbone" I blogged about? It really works! YOU NEED one of these for Lotusphere.
Some technology is so cool you wish you could make other people use it. After playing with the new Jawbone bluetooth headset, I really wish I could make anyone calling me at Lotusphere use one.
After looking at this demo I went and bought one and put it through my own test. In a quick and dirty trial, I called myself and left voicemail using the headset. I was driving on the highway and the stereo was playing a good enough volume to be clear over the kids yelling in the back seat. While talking, I turned off the noise cancelling feature and kept talking then turned it back on.
My voice clarity degraded just a bit while the noise cancelling was in effect - more when the background was loudest -- but the background noise went away entirely. It makes me sound like I'm in a phone booth but talking through low bandwidth voip connection.

everyone is the same. I have $200 worth of headsets that did not cut it. The
Jawbone has been great. I used it the other night on an ambulance call when our
radios were not working... getting clear instructions from the doctor was a
wonderful experience and my hands were free to provide patient care at the same
time.
I wonder how well it would survive a structure fire? (no plans to test!)
