My daughter Ari is on a competitive soccer team. She's worked hard to get up to the level of play with these kids. They play thirty minute periods with eleven girls on a side using a full high school varsity field -- and they play rough. Saturday morning they had an 8am make up game from last week's rain cancelled second day of regional finals. When we got out of the car in Fairfield it was 22 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Ice and frost covered the parking lot -- fortunately just frost on the field. Warm up was done in jackets and sweat pants with hats and mittens on.
The girls came through with a victory against a team that beat them badly in the regular season and have moved on to the state finals and a one in four chance at the championship next weekend. Lets hope the snow holds off!
