One interesting thing to note while I've been in London, is the prevalence of Internet Cafe's.
They're everywhere. I'd heard that McDonalds was planning to team with T-Mobile in the states, but was surprised to see it working here (don't know who the provider is). I stopped in at Kensington High Street where for a pound you got 30 minutes access at a touch screen w/ keyboard setup. They looked functional.
Though I didn't use them, I watched several people from a distance. That was what was most cool about it. While I watched, it was BUSY. People were using this service. Best of all, I watched a little girl, perhaps 12, skillfully maneuver though the system sending mail, cutting & pasting, dragging & dropping, and doing all the things you're used to seeing adults do. She was clearly at home on the system.
This can only be a good thing.
Wow, two accolades to McDonalds in the last few months on this 'blog. First they go and fix the shakes, now internet access. Bravo.
