The more I write, the more I wish the classic editor in the Notes client would handle just a few more things in a reasonably intelligent way. Lately, these small annoyances have really compounded for me. Let me list a few here. If you agree, maybe someone at IBM who finds themselves in a role with some influence {*cough*edbrill*cough*} can pick up these and do something about it.
#1. Let me use the control key with the mouse to select more than one thing at a time, even if they're not connected. For example, I could select every other sentence or a few words used in places around the whole of the content. Once selected, I could change the attributes of all at once -- say to bold, highlight, or color them.
#2. Why can't I have a toolbar icon or drop down for text color? Is this hidden somewhere that I don't know about? Sure, I know I could use "Styles" for this -- but they apply to whole paragraphs and aren't very flexible. I have toolbar icons for bold and italic, for font and font size, but not color. Why is that?
#3. Please allow me to pre-select a list of fonts I most often use, and show those at the top of the list of fonts. Many users have hundreds of fonts installed, and the font picker is just terrible. If I had a "favorite fonts" set, it would be helpful. One alternative many apps use is to have a pre-selected list at the top based on all the fonts currently in use on that document. That would work well too.
There are many other things I'd like, but these small ones would sure go a long way.

implemented right next to the font and point size selection areas of the status
bar. It could work just like it does in Word Pro.
